Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered not only delivers thrilling moment-to-moment action but also offers extensive weapon and outfit customization. Whether you're sneaking past formidable machines or engaging in intense melee or ranged combat, the right outfit can make all the difference. However, you might find yourself wishing to harness the benefits of multiple outfits at once. Fortunately, this is possible in the remastered version, and the guide below will show you how to achieve this.
To enjoy the dual outfit effects, you'll need the Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered edition. A recent update introduced the transmog feature, allowing you to maintain the stats of one outfit while adopting the appearance of another. This means you no longer have to compromise on style for the sake of performance.
To utilize the effects of two outfits simultaneously, keep in mind that not all outfits are compatible. One outfit can be any of your choosing, but the second must be one of these three:
These outfits are exclusive to the Frozen Wilds DLC area, meaning you can't use this method early in the game. However, you don't need to finish the base game to access this area.
To start, you'll need to reach the expansion area by defeating a new machine. If you find this challenging, consider lowering the difficulty or upgrading your gear. Once in the area, find a Bluegleam Merchant, marked by a blue icon, and purchase the Banuk Werak Runner outfit.
| Resources | Normal Cost | Ultra Hard Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Metal Shards | 1000 | 5000 |
| Desert Glass | 10 | 20 |
| Slagshine Glass | 10 | 20 |
For the superior Banuk Werak Chieftain outfit, complete the "For the Werak" quest, the third main quest in the Frozen Wilds DLC. This mission can be demanding, so equip your best gear or opt for Story mode to ease the challenge. The Adept version follows the same acquisition process but is only available in New Game Plus.
Once you have the second outfit, you're ready to proceed without needing to continue with the Frozen Wilds content.
First, equip your preferred outfit with the desired stats. Remember, you can enhance these stats with Weaves. Then, use the transmog feature to apply the appearance of one of the three Banuk Werak outfits. Although these outfits don't add to your stats, they offer an automatic healing perk after taking damage for a short period.
This method lets you retain your chosen outfit's stats while benefiting from the auto-healing of the Banuk Werak outfits. If your primary outfit is the Shield Weaver, you'll be nearly invincible, as you seldom take damage. In the rare cases you do, the Banuk Werak outfits' healing perk will kick in, offering quick recovery.
The Chieftain and Chieftain Adept outfits' healing activates faster than the Banuk Werak Runner's, so prioritize these if available.
