HP Slashes Price on RTX 5090 Gaming PC

If you're on the hunt for the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card, you'll find that standalone GPUs are still elusive. Your best chance to secure one is through a prebuilt gaming PC, and HP stands out as the only retailer I've come across offering an RTX 5090-equipped system under $5,000. To get your hands on this powerhouse, you'll need to carefully follow my configuration instructions. Although HP's estimated delivery date of June 3 might seem ambitious, if you're determined to own one of these cutting-edge cards, you'll need to put in the effort.

The RTX 5090 Is the Most Powerful Graphics Card Ever

Nvidia unveiled their 50-series GPUs at CES 2025, focusing this generation on enhancing AI capabilities and integrating DLSS 4 technology to boost gameplay performance beyond what previous GPUs offered. Even when considering only its hardware-based raster performance, the RTX 5090 stands as the most formidable consumer GPU available, boasting a 25%-30% performance increase over the RTX 4090 and equipped with 32GB of GDDR7 VRAM.

Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 FE Review by Jackie Thomas

"The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 has officially dethroned the RTX 4090 in terms of performance, though the leap forward isn't as dramatic as in past generations. For traditional non-AI gaming, the RTX 5090 offers one of the slightest generational improvements we've seen recently. However, in games that leverage it, DLSS 4 significantly enhances performance – although you must accept that 75% of the frames are generated by AI."

The Omen 45L is HP's Flagship Gaming Chassis

The Omen 45L represents the pinnacle of HP's gaming PC lineup and is, in our view, one of the top prebuilt gaming systems on the market. It features HP's most spacious chassis, ensuring ample cooling with four 120mm fans for system airflow and a 240mm to 360mm all-in-one liquid cooling solution for the CPU. The PC is powered by a robust 1,200W 80Plus Gold power supply and includes current-generation components such as an Intel Z790 motherboard, Kingston FURY DDR5 RGB memory modules, and a WD Black M.2 SSD. The chassis combines steel and tempered glass with RGB lighting, offering a premium aesthetic without the typical "gamer" flair seen in other PC cases.
