What to Expect in Splitgate 2’s Open Alpha Test

In an interview with the PlayStation Blog, Nate Dern, Lead Writer at 1047 Games, outlined what players can expect from the Open Alpha. The test will feature crossplay and introduce a new 24-player mode called Multi-Team Portal Warfare. In this mode, three teams of eight players will compete on *Splitgate*’s largest map yet, allowing them to try out new weapons, perks, and equipment amidst the classic high-energy gameplay.

The original game's beloved portal mechanics, which enabled players to perform incredible outplays by creating rifts and executing trickshots through portals, will remain central to the experience. While *Splitgate 2* introduces new classes or factions with unique abilities, the portal mechanics will still be the core focus during the Alpha. Dern emphasized that both internal and external feedback has been crucial in shaping the game’s foundation, aiming to deliver a standout experience in the FPS genre.

And that's how you can join the *Splitgate 2* Open Alpha test.
