Ranking the Karate Kid Films

Karate Kid: Legends arrives this week, uniting the original '80s films with the 2010 reboot - which initially wasn't intended to share continuity with the classic franchise.

Now featuring Ralph Macchio and Jackie Chan as martial arts masters Daniel LaRusso and Mr. Han respectively, Karate Kid: Legends merges these universes in groundbreaking ways. To celebrate this epic crossover, we're ranking all five Karate Kid films!

To clarify for fans: Netflix's Cobra Kai remains canon within the Legends timeline. While you won't see Cobra Kai characters appearing, the new film acknowledges the series' events. Set three years after Cobra Kai's conclusion, Legends follows Mr. Han recruiting Daniel to mentor a new student, Ben Wang's Li Fong (American Born Chinese).

Which Karate Kid film reigns supreme? The originals showcase the legendary Pat Morita as Mr. Miyagi guiding Daniel (and Hilary Swank's Julie) through life's challenges, while the reboot introduced Chan and Jaden Smith's modern reinterpretation. Here's our definitive ranking!
