NetEase Games has confirmed a steady stream of new heroes for its Marvel Rivals game. A new playable character will launch every six weeks, coinciding with the bi-seasonal release schedule.

Creative director Guangyun Chen revealed this ambitious plan in an interview with Metro. Each three-month season will be divided into two halves, each introducing a fresh hero alongside new seasonal stories and maps. Chen emphasized the goal of continuously enhancing the player experience and maintaining community excitement.

Marvel Rivals Season 1: Eternal Night Falls showcased this plan, launching with Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman in the first half, followed by The Thing and the Human Torch in the second. While this initial lineup featured iconic Marvel characters, maintaining this level of consistent, high-profile additions remains a significant undertaking.

The game already boasts a diverse roster including Wolverine, Magneto, Spider-Man, and Storm, but numerous other Marvel heroes are anticipated. Rumors suggest Blade's appearance in Season 2, with fan hopes extending to characters like Daredevil and additional X-Men. NetEase's commitment to expanding the roster reflects the game's current success.

Season 1 also included substantial balance adjustments and gameplay refinements, with further updates promised. For more on Marvel Rivals, explore articles covering the Invisible Woman's use against bots, the Hero Hot List, and the use of mods despite potential bans.
