Marvel Halts Development on Nova, Strange Academy, and Terror, Inc. Series

Marvel Television has reportedly hit pause on the development of three highly anticipated shows: Nova, Strange Academy, and Terror, Inc. According to sources cited by Deadline, none of these projects have been officially greenlit and while they might still see the light of day, Marvel is currently shifting its focus elsewhere.

This strategic pivot coincides with Marvel Studios gearing up for the launch of the Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again. This week, Brad Winderbaum, Marvel Studios’ head of streaming and TV, shared exciting news about potentially bringing together the street-level heroes from the beloved series Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist—collectively known as The Defenders.

Marvel Cinematic Universe: Every Upcoming Movie and TV Show

Marvel Studios is now adopting a strategy of developing more shows than it ultimately produces. As Brad Winderbaum mentioned to Screen Rant last year, "We’re really being careful about what we choose to do next."

The decision to pause Nova is particularly noteworthy, especially after it was announced just two months ago that Ed Bernero, the former showrunner of Criminal Minds, had joined the project as a writer and showrunner, with Nova confirmed for Disney+. Strange Academy was set to explore a magical school founded by the MCU's Doctor Strange, with Wong taking the helm. Unfortunately, there's no available information regarding Terror, Inc. at this time.

Here’s what we know for certain regarding upcoming Marvel TV shows: Daredevil: Born Again will premiere on Disney+ on March 4, followed by Ironheart on June 24, and Wonder Man slated for a December release. Additionally, three MCU films are scheduled for this year following the launch of Captain America: Brave New World: Thunderbolts in May and The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
