Marvel Rivals Rumored for Nintendo Switch 2

Once considered an impossibility, the idea of Marvel Rivals making its way to the Nintendo Switch 2 now feels increasingly within reach. NetEase had previously dismissed the notion of a release on the original Switch due to technical limitations, but the upcoming Switch 2 could turn the tide.

During the DICE Summit, producer Weikang Wu disclosed ongoing discussions with Nintendo. The primary challenge? Ensuring the game runs smoothly and consistently on the new console:

"The first-generation Switch simply didn’t have the power to deliver the gameplay experience we envisioned. But if the Switch 2 can handle it, we’re absolutely ready to bring the game to the platform."

Image: opencritic.com Earlier, game director Thaddeus Sasser clarified that there were no immediate plans for a mobile version or an original Switch release. Should a Switch 2 port come to fruition, it would likely necessitate a custom build tailored to the new hardware's capabilities.

With the Nintendo Switch 2 officially on the horizon, major players in the gaming industry are showing strong support. Phil Spencer has hinted at Xbox's interest in bringing its titles to the new system, and Electronic Arts (EA) has similarly expressed enthusiasm.

Meanwhile, Marvel Rivals is set to broaden its horizons, with two members of the Fantastic Four slated to join the fray in future updates, promising to invigorate the game's dynamics and keep players eagerly anticipating what's next.
