Exciting times are ahead for fans of Monster Hunter Now, as Niantic introduces a new feature called Monster Outbreaks. This innovative gameplay element is currently in the testing phase, designed to gather player feedback and ensure it meets the high standards of the community before its full release.
The Monster Outbreaks testing is scheduled for April 26th and 27th. During these days, the event will occur twice daily, from 10:00 AM to 10:59 AM and from 3:00 PM to 3:59 PM, all in local time. This testing period allows players to dive into the new feature and provide valuable insights.
During the event, specific locations on the map will be designated as outbreak points, marked with a special icon. At these spots, you'll encounter swarms of 8-star Black Diablos. The objective is to collaborate with other players to take down 100 Black Diablos at each outbreak point within the one-hour window. Note that this is a local goal, not a global one.
To participate, you must be at least Hunter Rank (HR) 11. Importantly, the party feature won't be available for these hunts; only in-person group hunts will count towards the goal. You can check the details of an outbreak by tapping on its icon on the map, and there's a sign-up roster at each location to coordinate with other hunters.
The mechanics of the Monster Outbreaks are intriguing. If you and three other hunters take down one Black Diablos, it counts as four towards the 100 monster goal. If your group reaches the 100 monster target before the time runs out, you can continue hunting Black Diablos for the remainder of the hour.
Achieving the 100 monster goal comes with rewards, including 3 Black Diablos Tailcases, 3 Ridges, 3 Primeshells, 3 Marrows, and 2,000 Zenny. Additionally, if you use the sign-up roster, you can earn the special Outbreak Test I Medal.
