Moon Knight Will Return, but Not in a Season 2, Marvel Exec Says

Marvel's Moon Knight: Future Appearances Confirmed, But No Season 2

While a second season of Moon Knight on Disney+ is off the table, Marvel Studios head Brad Winderbaum assures fans that Oscar Isaac's character will return to the MCU in a different capacity. This shift in strategy reflects a change in Marvel Television's approach to its shows.

Previously, Marvel focused on establishing characters through standalone series before integrating them into larger MCU projects, as seen with Ms. Marvel leading into The Marvels. However, Winderbaum explains that the current focus is on creating shows with annual release cycles, more akin to traditional television.

“Moon Knight was part of a wave of shows designed to introduce characters for future tie-ins,” Winderbaum stated in an interview with ComicBook. “Our priorities have shifted. We're now creating shows as standalone entities with annual releases. I'd love a Season 2, but there are other Moon Knight plans in the works.”

While Isaac voiced Moon Knight in Marvel's What If…?, his live-action return remains unannounced.

Recently, Marvel paused production on Nova, Strange Academy, and Terror, Inc., but Winderbaum hinted at the possibility of a Defenders reunion, bringing back Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist.
