If you're a fan of *The Last of Us* eagerly awaiting news about a potential Part 3, you might want to brace yourself. Neil Druckmann, the series' creator, has recently thrown cold water on any hopes for a sequel. In a detailed interview with Variety, Druckmann focused primarily on the upcoming *The Last of Us* TV series. However, when pressed about *The Last of Us Part 3*, he delivered a clear message:
“I was waiting for this question,” he said with a sigh. “I guess the only thing I would say is don’t bet on there being more of ‘Last of Us.’ This could be it.”
Whether you take Druckmann's words at face value is another matter. Currently, Naughty Dog is deeply invested in their new project, *Intergalactic*, announced at The Game Awards last December. With no release window in sight, it's clear the studio's focus is on this space-themed endeavor, leaving little room for *The Last of Us Part 3* in the near future. Druckmann might be playing his cards close to the chest, or perhaps he's genuinely finished with the series. Only time will tell.
For fans still hungry for more *The Last of Us*, the television series offers some solace. The second season is set to premiere on April 13 on Max. While Druckmann remains uncertain about how many seasons it will take to cover the story of Part 2, an HBO executive suggested in February that four seasons might be the ideal length to wrap up the narrative.
