NieR's 15th Anniversary Livestream with Yoko Taro

NieR is set to celebrate its 15th anniversary with a special livestream, promising new updates for the beloved series and insights from the developers. Dive in to discover what to expect from this exciting event and the potential for a new NieR game.

NieR 15th Anniversary Livestream on April 19, 2025

Mark your calendars for the NieR 15th Anniversary Livestream, where fans will get to see various developers who have contributed to the series. Square Enix has planned this live event on their YouTube channel to commemorate the 15th anniversary of the NieR series.

The livestream will feature key figures such as NieR series creator and Creative Director Yoko Taro, Producer Yosuke Saito, Composer Keiichi Okabe, Senior Game Designer Takahisa Taura, and Hiroki Yasumoto, the voice behind Grimoire Weiss and Pod 042. Expect a mini-live performance and other exciting reveals during the event.

The promotional artwork for the livestream prominently features elements from the now-closed mobile game NieR Reincarnation. This choice of imagery might hint at Square Enix's plans to revisit or expand upon this title, or it could simply be a nod to the series' history.

Scheduled for April 19, 2025, at 2 AM PT on Square Enix's YouTube channel, the livestream is expected to last around two and a half hours. Such a duration suggests that significant announcements may be on the horizon.

Possible New Game for the Series

Producer Yosuke Saito has hinted at the possibility of a new NieR game in development. In an interview with 4Gamer in December 2024, Saito mentioned the upcoming 15th anniversary and expressed his desire to create something new for the series, whether it be a new game or other developments.

The most recent release from the series was NieR Replicant, a remaster-remake of the original NieR game. Since the release of NieR Automata in 2017, fans have been eagerly awaiting a new mainline entry. While Square Enix has not made any official announcements, the anticipation for the next NieR game is palpable, especially with the 15th anniversary approaching.
