While *DOOM: The Dark Ages* was a major highlight at the Developer_Direct for gaming enthusiasts, it wasn't the only big reveal. The broadcast also introduced *Ninja Gaiden 4*, the latest installment in Koei Tecmo's beloved series, slated for release in the fall of 2025.
The debut trailer promises an action-packed slasher experience, with the iconic ninja Ryu Hayabusa taking center stage. *Ninja Gaiden 4* will bring new gameplay mechanics to the franchise, including the ability to swiftly navigate through environments using wires and rails, as demonstrated in the trailer.
The game's setting is a cyberpunk city drenched in toxic rain, where players will battle against hordes of modified soldiers and otherworldly beings. The objective is to lift an ancient curse that plagues the megacity.
In addition to *Ninja Gaiden 4*, the presentation showcased a massive remaster of *Ninja Gaiden 2*. This remaster, already available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S and included in the Game Pass catalog, has been enhanced using Unreal Engine 5 (UE5). Team Ninja has revamped the character models, visual effects, and landscapes, and incorporated elements from newer entries in the series, including three new playable characters.
Koei Tecmo's efforts have clearly captured the attention and excitement of the gaming community, and their dedication to enhancing the *Ninja Gaiden* series is commendable.
