Preordering through the official Nintendo Store is more involved than with other retailers. First, visit the dedicated page, log in to your Nintendo account, and register your interest by selecting either the standalone console or a bundle with Mario Kart World.
After registering, Nintendo will notify you by email when it's your turn to finalize the purchase. The first round of invitations will be sent on May 8. Once you receive your invitation, you'll have 72 hours to complete the order.
There are several conditions for purchasing a Switch 2 this way, however. It’s only available to customers “who have purchased a Nintendo Switch Online membership with a minimum of 12 months of paid membership and at least 50 total gameplay hours, as of April 2, 2025.” If you don’t meet these requirements, you'll need to buy from another retailer.
