Benjamin represents the full-length comic debut of Ben H. Winters, acclaimed author of The Last Policeman Trilogy and creator of CBS's Tracker. Illustrations come from Leomacs (EC's Epitaphs from the Abyss), with cover art contributions from Christian Ward and Malachi Ward.
The groundbreaking Benjamin J. Carp wasn't just a prolific sci-fi author - he was a cultural revolutionary. Across 44 novels including underground classic The Man They Couldn't Erase, Carp blurred literary boundaries and readers' realities until his 1982 demise.
Yet in 2025, Carp mysteriously revives in a derelict LA motel. With full memory of his death but no explanation for his return, he embarks on his strangest investigation yet - unraveling his own impossible resurrection.
"Let's clarify - Benjamin isn't autobiography, despite matching details of my life!" Winters tells IGN with humor. "This existential mystery transforms life's biggest questions into a wild, philosophical adventure through modern LA."
"The brilliance lies in crafting metafictional layers," Winters continues. "Readers experience a sci-fi author potentially trapped in his own story - written by another sci-fiction writer. Plus, everyone loves Strawman, Benjamin's loyal canine companion!"
Benjamin #1 launches June 18, 2025. Fans can currently view the animated trailer ahead of release.
