In Pokémon TCG Pocket, Sleep is a debilitating status condition. This guide details its effects and how to counter it.
What is Sleep in Pokémon TCG Pocket?
Sleep renders a Pokémon unable to attack, use abilities, or retreat. A sleeping Pokémon is effectively incapacitated while in the active spot.
Curing Sleep
There are two primary methods:
Coin Toss: Each turn, a coin toss determines if a sleeping Pokémon wakes up. This is a random chance, potentially prolonging the Sleep effect.
Evolution: Evolving a sleeping Pokémon instantly cures it.
A less common method involves the Koga Trainer card, which returns a sleeping Weezing or Muk to your hand.

Hypno's Strategic Advantage
Hypno stands out due to its ability to inflict Sleep from the bench, making it a powerful support card for Psychic decks, particularly when paired with Mewtwo ex and Gardevoir. While other Sleep cards can be incorporated into various decks, Hypno's effectiveness without hindering overall strategy makes it currently the most competitive option.
