The record-breaking TV adaptation of *The Last of Us* secured a Season 3 renewal even before Season 2 premiered. But could a potential Season 4 be in the cards? Showrunner Craig Mazin suggests a fourth season might be necessary to properly conclude the series.
In an interview with Collider, Mazin acknowledged that compressing *The Last of Us*' full narrative—spanning both Naughty Dog's acclaimed games—into just three seasons would stretch Season 3 excessively. While there's a "decent chance" Season 3 might expand beyond Season 2's length, he stressed that "there’s no way to complete this narrative in a third season."
Mazin elaborated: "Hopefully, we’ll earn our keep enough to come back and finish it in a fourth. That’s the most likely outcome."
