Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is set to launch on Nintendo Switch 2 on December 4, 2025.
The Nintendo Switch 2 Edition will be available digitally, priced at $69.99 / £64.99. Players who already own the game can purchase the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Upgrade Pack for $10 / £10, enabling full content and progress transfer.
A physical release is also on the way, with Sega confirming it will include the complete base game on the cartridge. However, this version is not expected until early 2026. Sega has also confirmed there will be no Limited Run Games Collector’s Edition for Nintendo Switch 2, nor any pre-order bonuses for this version.
The publisher confirmed there will be no Digital Deluxe Edition available specifically for the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition. However, fans can still access the Nintendo Switch 2 enhanced Digital Deluxe content by purchasing the Nintendo Switch Digital Deluxe Edition along with the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Upgrade Pack. Existing owners can also upgrade by purchasing the Nintendo Switch season pass.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds boasts an extensive roster of playable characters, with both base game and DLC offerings. Fans will find familiar faces like Sonic, Dr. Eggman, Knuckles, Shadow, and Tails, but the lineup also includes unexpected additions such as SpongeBob SquarePants, Avatar, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Mega Man — characters that were accidentally revealed earlier when retailers posted the game's official release date.
We found Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds to be 'Amazing,' awarding it a 9/10 in our review, stating: "Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds delivers top-tier fun with a standout cast, thrilling tracks, and a deep array of customization options."
