Sonic Rumble Pre-Registrations Reach 900k, Release Date Revealed

Sonic Rumble marks the first foray into multiplayer party gaming for the iconic series, featuring up to 32 players battling it out across various levels and gameplay modes. Sega describes the experience as, "Players control a character from the Sonic series as they navigate a toy world crafted by the nefarious Dr. Eggman, tackling perilous obstacle courses and hazardous arenas!"

Given its free-to-play model, there have been whispers about potential pay-to-win elements. However, Sonic Rumble Director Makoto Tase addressed these concerns in a September 2024 interview with Automaton during the Tokyo Game Show 2024. He stated, "Our aim is to implement a casual system where players can purchase exactly what they want for a small, fixed price, steering clear of a gacha system that relies on probability for item acquisition."

Sonic Rumble Reaches Over 900k Pre-Registrations

Shortly after the release date announcement, Sega revealed that Sonic Rumble has now surpassed 900,000 pre-registrations. As the game hits these milestones, players are set to receive in-game rewards to kickstart their adventure:

• 400K Pre-Registered: Happy Sticker

The final milestone for the pre-registration campaign remains undisclosed, but based on similar campaigns, fans speculate it might be around 1 million pre-registrations or more. With several weeks left before the launch on May 8, 2025, there's plenty of time for Sonic Rumble to reach this target.
