Elliot Page's Pageboy Productions is adapting Quantic Dream's Beyond: Two Souls into a television series.
As reported by Deadline, Pageboy Productions has secured the rights from Quantic Dream to develop the video game into a TV show. Currently in early development, the series aims to retain the game's distinctive non-linear storytelling. Further details regarding casting and release dates remain undisclosed.
Page described his experience filming the game as "one of the most challenging and fulfilling acting experiences" of his career, highlighting the story's "rich narrative and emotional depth." He expressed a desire to create a unique adaptation that resonates with both existing fans and new viewers.
Matt Jordan Smitt, head of development and production at Pageboy, emphasized the team's commitment to honoring the game's legacy while incorporating fresh perspectives. He noted the importance of exploring themes of survival and the impact of crucial decisions.
Originally released for PlayStation 3 in 2013, Beyond: Two Souls later saw releases on PlayStation 4 (2015) and PC (2019). Directed and written by David Cage of Quantic Dream, the game follows Jodie Holmes, a young woman with psychic abilities and her connection to a spirit named Aiden. The game featured a star-studded cast, including Page and Willem Dafoe.
Cage confirmed his collaboration with Page on the TV series, although the specifics of his involvement haven't been revealed. He expressed his enthusiasm for the project and his belief in Page's ability to create a unique television adaptation.
