Prime Day: Split Fiction Hits Record Low Price

By Henry: Feb 11,2026

Summer breaks from my childhood were filled with unforgettable moments playing co-op games with friends. As an adult, those carefree summers feel like a distant memory. It might be the pressures of everyday life or the scarcity of genuine couch co-op experiences, but something has changed. Yet, occasionally, a truly special game comes along and sparks that same sense of pure, unadulterated fun.

Earlier this year, Hazelight Studios, the creators of It Takes Two, released their next project: Split Fiction. It's another fantastic cooperative adventure designed from the ground up for two players. Even though the game is just a few months old, its PS5 and Xbox Series X|S editions are already on sale for just $35 during Prime Day. Act fast, as these Prime Day deals end tonight at midnight Pacific Time.

It Takes Two is widely regarded as one of the greatest co-op games ever made, even winning the top prize at the 2021 Game Awards. Split Fiction is poised to become another timeless classic.

Following in its predecessor's footsteps, Split Fiction is a split-screen journey for two, playable either locally or online. It even includes a Friend Pass feature, meaning you and a friend only need one copy of the game to play together.

The adventure is packed with unforgettable sequences, demanding constant coordination with your partner to solve puzzles as you journey between sci-fi and fantasy realms. Our reviewer scored it a 9, noting, "Split Fiction is so compelling it’s hard to stop playing. It constantly introduces new ideas, preventing it from ever feeling dull." In fact, it has already earned a spot on our list of the top games of 2025.

Should I play It Takes Two first?

While the two games share a similar cooperative spirit, Split Fiction tells a completely original story with a brand-new cast of characters. If you skipped It Takes Two, you can jump right into Split Fiction without missing a beat. However, players of the first game will appreciate the numerous nods and inside jokes sprinkled throughout.
