Splitgate 2 Open Alpha Testing Details

Revealed during Sony's February 2025 State of Play event, Splitgate 2's Open Alpha testing period was active from February 27 to March 3, 2025. Unlike the previous PC-exclusive Closed Alpha, this Open Alpha launched simultaneously on PC (via Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Participation required no prior registration - the test was open to all players. The developers shared that participants could experience new maps, weapons, game modes, and even a massive 8v8v8 multiplayer battle format during this testing phase.

Splitgate 2 Closed Alpha Recap

The Closed Alpha testing period for Splitgate 2 ended on August 25, 2024, after running from August 21 of the same year. Access was limited to invited participants and players who secured Alpha keys. These keys could be acquired either by clicking the "Request Access" button on Steam or by watching eligible Twitch streamers for two hours to qualify for Twitch Drops.

While this initial testing phase was PC-only, the developers have confirmed future Alpha tests in 2025 will expand to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S platforms alongside PC.
