Star Trek Blu-ray collections follow a predictable cycle - new printings come and go, often becoming hard to find between releases. Currently, Walmart offers the complete Star Trek: TNG Blu-ray set at its lowest-ever price of $80, half the retail cost. This edition is sold out at Amazon and priced $40 higher at Target, while Best Buy no longer carries physical TV collections.

As a '90s kid raised on syndicated reruns, The Next Generation (1987-1994) remains my undisputed favorite Star Trek incarnation - though Deep Space Nine and Strange New Worlds come close, and the original series deserves every bit of its legendary status. For me, Jean-Luc Picard will always be the definitive captain, surrounded by one of sci-fi's greatest ensembles: Data, Troi, Worf, Riker, La Forge, Dr. Crusher, and yes, even Wesley. While the early seasons show their age, the series maintains an enduring charm like a beloved childhood comfort.

While Paramount+ offers full Star Trek access (alongside other great content), owning physical media ensures permanent access regardless of subscription status or internet connectivity. This collection represents an exceptional value for fans wanting guaranteed access to all seven seasons.
