Star Wars: Hunters Shuts Down Before First Anniversary

Star Wars: Hunters has announced its shutdown before even reaching its first anniversary, yet it will still celebrate that milestone before closing its doors. But is it really worth celebrating a dying game's anniversary?

When Is the Star Wars: Hunters Shutdown?

The servers for Star Wars: Hunters are set to go offline on October 1st, 2025, marking the end of the game just nine months after its launch. Players have until April 15th to wrap up Season 5. Zynga, the game's developer and publisher, is rolling out a final content update on that same date, introducing the last new Support Hunter, Tuya, for free. On April 15th, in-game purchases will be disabled, so it's your last chance to use any unspent Crystals—no refunds will be issued.

Ranked Mode will remain active until the servers shut down, and events from the season will be rerun, giving players a chance to enjoy the game's remaining time.

It Isn’t Shocking

The shutdown of Star Wars: Hunters may not come as a surprise to many. Launched after multiple delays since its announcement in 2020, and with beta tests limited to the SEA and ANZAC regions, the game struggled from the start. The lack of major console support and a tepid reception didn't help its case.

Moreover, the game's design choices left much to be desired. Despite the rich tapestry of iconic characters available in the Star Wars universe, the developers opted for generic original characters, missing out on a golden opportunity to engage fans with familiar faces.
