Saber Interactive has confirmed that all of its previously announced games remain in active development, despite the lack of recent updates on major projects like the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake.

Following the announcement of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3, Saber Chief Creative Officer Tim Willits took to Twitter to reassure fans that all announced titles are still moving forward.

“Saber Interactive ranks among the world’s largest independent game developers,” Willits stated. “We’re currently developing a diverse portfolio of games spanning multiple genres. Every project we’ve announced is still in the works, and we’ll share news on upcoming titles as soon as we have something exciting to reveal.”

The most notable subject of Willits’ remarks is the KOTOR remake, which continues to be one of the gaming industry’s most mysterious projects. First announced in 2021, the highly anticipated remake has passed through several studios, experienced apparent pauses and restarts, and after four years remains unseen by the public.

In April 2024, Saber Interactive CEO Matthew Karch confirmed that the studio retained the KOTOR project following its separation from Embracer Group, noting the game was still progressing.

"It’s evident that we are actively developing this title," he commented at the time. "This has been widely reported. What I can confirm is that the game is alive and well, and we are committed to delivering an experience that surpasses player expectations."

Willits’ recent statement, coming nearly a year later, reinforces Karch’s earlier comments. Still, beyond the initial announcement trailer, no new footage or details about the KOTOR remake have been released.

Saber also has additional titles in development, with several scheduled for release this year. John Carpenter's Toxic Commando and Jurassic Park Survival are still slated for 2025, though neither has a confirmed launch date. The studio is also working on a new Turok game and an untitled Avatar: The Last Airbender project.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3 now joins that growing lineup. For deeper insights, check out IGN’s feature exploring which Space Marine chapters and enemy factions might appear in the upcoming sequel.
