The mobile gaming sensation Monopoly Go is set to thrill fans by merging with the iconic Star Wars universe, infusing the game with a dash of sci-fi flair. This exciting collaboration was unveiled at the Star Wars Celebration in Japan and will run from May 1 to July 2. Drawing inspiration from the Skywalker Saga and The Mandalorian, the partnership promises a unique blend of real estate dice-rolling with beloved Star Wars elements.

During the Star Wars season, Monopoly Go will introduce adorable cartoon versions of iconic Star Wars characters, adding a playful twist to the game. Players can look forward to completing a Star Wars Go sticker album, participating in podracing events at the Mos Espa Grand Arena, and collecting in-game items such as tokens, shields, and emojis. Imagine the delight of seeing Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Princess Leia, Han Solo, R2D2, Yoda, Anakin Skywalker, and Qui-Gon Jinn mingling with Mr. Monopoly, also known as Rich Uncle Pennybags, in this unique setting.

This isn't the first time Monopoly Go has ventured into crossover territory. Last September, the game embraced Marvel with characters like Spider-Man, Wolverine, and the Avengers making appearances, adding a superhero twist to the classic board game experience.

In other news, publisher Scopely has expanded its portfolio by acquiring the teams behind Pokémon GO, Pikmin Bloom, and Monster Hunter Now through a deal with Niantic, indicating a robust strategy to enhance its mobile gaming offerings.

According to a report from our sister site GamesIndustry.biz, Monopoly Go has been ranked as the top game for consumer spending in 2024, raking in an impressive $2.47 billion. This financial success underscores the game's popularity, with Scopely also reporting 150 million downloads and 10 million daily users in 2024.
