Star Wars Movie From Deadpool & Wolverine Director Could Star Ryan Gosling

Shawn Levy, director of Deadpool and Wolverine, is reportedly heading to a galaxy far, far away, bringing Ryan Gosling along.

The Hollywood Reporter announced that Levy's Star Wars film is in negotiations with Gosling to take a leading role. Levy has been developing this project since 2022, with a script finalized last year. He's re-teaming with Jonathan Tropper, screenwriter for This Is Where I Leave You and The Adam Project, both Levy-directed films.

Plot details remain under wraps, with no information on Gosling's character or the film's historical placement within the Star Wars timeline. However, it's confirmed to be unrelated to the Skywalker Saga and intended as a standalone film, ruling out a trilogy.

The Hollywood Reporter also suggests that Gosling's potential involvement has accelerated the project. While Levy was previously attached to direct a boy band movie starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, Gosling's commitment might prioritize the Star Wars film, pushing production to commence this fall.
