Star Wars Outlaws Switch 2 Launch Date Confirmed

Ubisoft previously confirmed Star Wars: Outlaws would launch on Nintendo Switch 2, but new details reveal the space adventure won't be a launch title when Nintendo's new handheld debuts on June 5. Instead, players will need to wait until September 4 for its release.

For those who missed its PS5, Xbox and PC launch, Star Wars Outlaws takes place between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. The game follows Kay Vess, a small-time criminal who gains a deadly bounty from a cartel. Our review scored it 7/10, describing it as "an entertaining intergalactic heist adventure with solid exploration, though hindered by basic stealth mechanics, repetitive combat, and several bugs at launch."

Ubisoft shared limited new details beyond reconfirming the Nintendo Switch 2 release date. However, this update helps complete the Switch 2 Games List. The announcement comes as American and Canadian gamers face pre-order uncertainty due to new tariffs under the Republican administration, making any Switch 2 game news particularly welcome.

The news broke during a panel at Star Wars Celebration Japan, where Ubisoft also unveiled the game's second story expansion: A Pirate's Fortune. This DLC sees Kay teaming up with fan-favorite scoundrel Hondo Ohnaka to battle Stinger Tash, leader of the Rokana Raiders. Star Wars: Outlaws - A Pirate's Fortune launches May 15 across all platforms.
