Star Wars enthusiasts eager to dive into the first episodes of Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld will need to head to Fortnite to catch the premiere before it hits Disney+. Epic Games has announced an exciting expansion of its Star Wars offerings, revealing that the first two episodes of this much-anticipated animated series will debut exclusively within Fortnite. This move is part of Epic's strategy to enrich its upcoming Galactic Battle season with a plethora of Star Wars-themed content.

PlayMark your calendars for May 2 at 10 a.m. ET, when you can join the Star Wars Watch Party island to witness the debut of Tales of the Underworld, featuring the compelling character Asajj Ventress. This exclusive event will be available two days before the series becomes accessible to Disney+ subscribers. To enhance the experience, Epic encourages fans to link their Epic Games and MyDisney accounts, rewarding eligible players with a First Order Stormtrooper outfit. While the full scope of the benefits remains under wraps, Epic hints at more perks on the horizon.

In a statement, Epic Games President Adam Sussman highlighted the groundbreaking collaboration with Disney: “Disney and Epic are pioneering the future of social entertainment together, and this expansive Star Wars collaboration offers a glimpse into the type of interactive experiences we envision. We are reimagining what’s possible with immersive storytelling in Fortnite with one of the world’s most beloved franchises - stay tuned for a lot more to come.”

The window to watch both episodes of Tales of the Underworld will close on May 11, after which the Star Wars Watch Party island will go offline. The island will also host a Battle Arena where players can engage in combat, wielding lightsabers against waves of enemies. As an added incentive, viewers who complete both episodes will unlock an exclusive Asajj Ventress loading screen.

Set in the style of The Clone Wars, Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld spans six episodes, delving into the lives of Asajj Ventress and Cad Bane. The official synopsis promises a transformative journey for Ventress as she encounters new opportunities and alliances, while Bane faces his past.

Disney's relationship with Fortnite extends well beyond the upcoming Galactic Battle season. In March 2024, the entertainment giant acquired a $1.5 billion stake in Epic, signaling a long-term partnership that will bring more Star Wars, Marvel, and Pixar outfits into the popular battle royale game. Fans can look forward to exciting additions like Darth Jar Jar and Emperor Palpatine in the next season.

Since its launch in 2017, Fortnite has remained a dominant force in gaming, bolstered by collaborations such as the recent Sabrina Carpenter crossover, which saw players trading their pickaxes for dance moves.
