While exploring the Ruins of Wyveria in *Monster Hunter Wilds*, you'll encounter the formidable guardian, Ebony Odogaron. Known for its incredible speed, this creature is one of the fastest in the game, making it a challenging opponent.

Ebony Odogaron's speed can be overwhelming, making it a frustrating foe. To counter this, you can stun it by triggering a nearby Flashfly or by using crafted Flash Pods. Stunning the monster gives you a crucial window to attack without being overwhelmed by its swift movements.
Facing Ebony Odogaron solo can be daunting, as you'll spend much of your time dodging. To improve your chances, bring teammates by sending out SOS signals. If other players don't respond, NPCs can serve as effective shields, drawing the monster's attention away from you and giving you time to strategize and attack.
During the battle, you'll encounter an area with Entangled Rocks overhead. Using your slinger to pull these down will stun the monster for several seconds, although this tactic can only be used once per fight. Additionally, deploying Pitfall and Shock Traps can immobilize the creature twice more, giving you more opportunities to attack safely.
Ebony Odogaron can inflict Dragonblight, which prevents you from dealing elemental or status effect damage. To mitigate this, use a Nulberry or equip decorations with Level 3 Dragon Resistance or Blight Resistance to negate the effect and maintain your offensive capabilities.
Paralysis is highly effective against Ebony Odogaron, immobilizing it temporarily and simplifying the fight. If you can knock it down while it's standing on roots, it might become further entangled, extending your window to deal damage.
The head is Ebony Odogaron's most vulnerable spot, boasting a 3-star weakness. However, targeting it puts you at risk of direct attacks. If you prefer a safer approach, aim for its forelegs and tail. While these areas aren't as weak, hitting them can still deal significant damage and may lead to breaking its limbs.

To capture Ebony Odogaron, deploy a Pitfall or Shock Trap once its health is reduced to 20 percent or less. At this point, the tranquilizer will be effective in subduing the monster. If you attempt to capture it too early, the monster will break free, and you'll have to continue fighting.
Monster Hunter Wilds is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
