Sydney Sweeney, known for her role in *Madame Web*, is set to star in the upcoming movie adaptation of the acclaimed video game *Split Fiction*. This exciting project, announced by Variety, is being brought to life by Story Kitchen, the powerhouse behind the successful Sonic films. With *Wicked* director Jon M. Chu at the helm and the script penned by the dynamic duo behind *Deadpool & Wolverine*, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, the film is poised to captivate audiences. Story Kitchen is currently shopping this stellar talent package around Hollywood, sparking anticipation of a fierce bidding war among studios.

While Sweeney's role as either Zoe or Mio remains undecided, the buzz surrounding *Split Fiction* continues to grow. Launched in March, the game quickly became a hit for Hazelight and designer Josef Fares, selling over 2 million copies within a week. It's also set to be a launch title for the Nintendo Switch 2. IGN's glowing review awarded *Split Fiction* a 9/10, praising its "expertly crafted co-op adventure that pinballs from one genre extreme to another," calling it a "rollercoaster of constantly refreshed gameplay ideas and styles" that's incredibly engaging.

Hazelight's success with *Split Fiction* isn't the only exciting news in the realm of video game adaptations. Their other blockbuster, *It Takes Two*, which sold 23 million copies, is also slated for a film adaptation, with rumors swirling that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson might take the lead.

While there's always a risk that these ambitious projects might not come to fruition, the current wave of successful video game adaptations suggests that Hollywood is eager to capitalize on this trend. Story Kitchen's portfolio is expanding rapidly, with announced adaptations of *Just Cause*, *Dredge: The Movie*, *Kingmakers*, *Sleeping Dogs*, and even a live-action Toys 'R' Us movie in the works. Meanwhile, Hazelight is already teasing its next game, keeping fans eagerly awaiting more innovative gaming experiences.
