Slaying monsters is enjoyable, but to collect every monster part for crafting armor, you’ll also need to master trapping them. To do so, you’ll require specific materials. Here’s how to obtain Trap Tools in Monster Hunter Wilds.

First, you can acquire Trap Tools by purchasing them from the Provisions Stockpiler NPC at your Base Camp. Simply speak with him and browse his inventory to locate Trap Tools, which cost 200 Zenny each. I strongly suggest buying a generous supply, especially if you’re planning to farm specific monsters or aim to capture one of every creature in the game.

The only way to obtain Trap Tools is by purchasing them at Base Camp, and this item cannot be found in the wild like other resources.

How to Use Trap Tools

Now that you have your Trap Tools, it’s time to put them to use. You can craft them into a Pitfall Trap using a Net combined with Spiderweb or Ivy, or create a Shock Trap by combining them with a Thunderbug Capacitor.

Both traps are effective, but keep in mind that some monsters are immune to certain trap types. For example, Shock Traps are ineffective against Rey Dau, as it’s a lightning dragon and naturally resistant to electric damage. In such cases, opt for the Pitfall Trap instead.

Also note that you can only carry one trap at a time, so use them only when the monster is weakened.
