Ubisoft appears to be grappling with a series of unfortunate events surrounding its unannounced game, Project U. The journey of leaks started back in 2022, shortly after the closed beta testing phase commenced. These leaks have resurfaced after two years, indicating that the project is still in development. Now, following what seems to be a reboot of the game's development, an introductory cinematic has leaked online.
The origin and authenticity of the cinematic remain unconfirmed by Ubisoft. The leak was shared by blogger Shaun Weber, known for his history of leaking gaming content. Weber hinted that more videos from Project U might emerge if the game continues to be developed for an extended period.
Project U is anticipated to be a session-based cooperative shooter, taking inspiration from the successful gameplay of Helldivers 2. According to the leaked footage, the game's narrative centers around an alien machine invasion of Earth, with players stepping into the shoes of chosen individuals tasked with repelling this extraterrestrial threat.
As of now, Ubisoft has not provided any official statement regarding the formal announcement of Project U.
