A recent leak has stirred excitement among Call of Duty: Warzone players, hinting at the potential return of the beloved Verdansk map in Season 3. Since its introduction with Call of Duty: Warzone during the era of Modern Warfare, Verdansk has captured the hearts of many gamers. From iconic locations like the City Center, Airport, Boneyard, and Suburbs, Verdansk has been a staple in the battle royale experience. Although it made a comeback with Warzone Mobile, its availability was limited to mobile platforms, leaving console and PC players longing for its return. Over time, Verdansk has been succeeded by maps such as Pacific Caldera, Al Mazrah, Urzikstan, Vondel, and the revamped Verdansk '84, which, while sharing some similarities with the original, introduced a distinct aesthetic and omitted landmarks like the Gora Dam.

The leak, shared by Call of Duty news outlet Charlie Intel, originated from user TheGhostofHope. A tweet featuring a screenshot of the Verdansk map has fueled speculation, though it's uncertain whether the image is from Season 3 datamined content or simply a replica of the original map. Unlike Verdansk '84, which was heavily influenced by Black Ops: Cold War, the teased version appears to align more closely with the original Verdansk. As Season 3 is expected to overlap with Black Ops 6, this could lead to a surge in player numbers, especially considering the steady decline in Black Ops 6's player base since its launch, which wasn't significantly impacted by Season 1 or the Squid Game collaboration.

Call of Duty: Warzone Leak Suggests Verdansk Returns in Season 3

Warzone and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Season 2 are scheduled to kick off on January 28 at 9:00 A.M. Pacific Time across all platforms. With Season 1 lasting 54 days, this sets a potential benchmark for the duration of Season 2 and future content updates. Season 2 is anticipated to bring enhancements to the Ricochet anti-cheat system and may introduce new modes, events, and more. While Season 3 doesn't have a confirmed release date yet, fans are hopeful for a Spring launch, which, if the leak holds true, could see Verdansk returning to Warzone in March.

It's important to approach the news of Verdansk's return with caution, as it's based on a leak and awaits official confirmation from Activision or Treyarch. Regardless of Verdansk's fate, Activision's ongoing updates to Black Ops 6 and Warzone ensure a steady stream of new content for players to enjoy.
