Mastering the Voodoo Doll in Phasmophobia: A Guide to Using Cursed Possessions
Sometimes, identifying the most dangerous ghosts in Phasmophobia requires using equally risky items like Cursed Possessions. The Voodoo Doll is a prime example. This guide explains how to obtain and effectively utilize it.

The Voodoo Doll offers a potentially favorable risk-reward ratio among Cursed Possessions in Phasmophobia. While game updates have adjusted its benefits, it remains a valuable tool.
Its primary function is to provoke the ghost into revealing evidence. This is achieved by sequentially inserting pins into the doll. It's particularly useful when dealing with unresponsive or elusive ghosts, forcing actions like EMF5 readings or UV fingerprint displays.
Ten pins can be inserted, each action carrying a 5% sanity penalty. Inserting all pins depletes 50% sanity, significantly increasing the risk of ghost hunts.
However, the most significant risk lies in the heart pin. Pin insertion is random; hitting the heart pin triggers a Cursed Hunt, immediately dropping sanity by 10% and initiating a prolonged ghost hunt (20 seconds longer than normal).
Despite the risks, the potential for evidence gathering makes the Voodoo Doll worthwhile with proper preparation.

Cursed Possessions (often called "Cursed Objects") are unique items randomly spawning across Phasmophobia maps, influenced by difficulty and Challenge Mode.
Unlike standard equipment, which minimizes risk while providing evidence, Cursed Objects offer manipulative shortcuts at a greater risk to your character.
The risk varies between objects. You and your team decide whether to use them; there's no penalty for not doing so. Only one Cursed Possession spawns per contract (unless modified in Custom settings).
Seven Cursed Objects exist:
