It's been a whirlwind month here at PG Towers. We've witnessed a flurry of major mobile game announcements, including Red Dead Redemption, Horizon Steel Frontiers, and Cult of the Lamb. On top of that, the nominations for the 12th annual Pocket Gamer Awards are now complete. After crunching the numbers—well, actually, just a human did the counting—we’ve compiled the shortlists for each category.
Still giving us side-eye? Fair enough. It was me, Dann. No robot involved. Not yet, anyway.
But yes, the voting phase is officially live. Head over to our sleek new voting page and cast your support for your favorite titles. The window stays open for about a month, so you’ve got plenty of time to make your voice count. That said, don’t wait too long. These things tend to slip under the radar, and before you know it, you’ve missed your chance—possibly letting a game you’re less fond of take the top spot. Heaven help us.
There are 20 awards up for grabs, covering top categories like best puzzle games, RPGs, platformers, and even simulation titles—all celebrating the standout releases of the past year. But we also recognize that great games don’t always follow a neat 365-day cycle. That’s why we’ve included the Best Updated and Most Anticipated awards, honoring both recent revivals and what’s coming next.
Naturally, the spotlight is on Mobile Game of the Year. It’s a standout lineup featuring titles like Dredge, Super Farming Boy, and Pokémon TCG Pocket. Personally, I’m especially drawn to the otherworldly fishing sim—though, of course, that’s just my take.
But your opinion matters far more than mine. This is your chance to crown the champion. And you won’t have to wait long to find out who wins. The results will be unveiled in January at our premier event, Pocket Gamer Connects London. If you can’t make it in person, don’t worry—keep an eye on our website. We’ll be sharing the winners there, too.
