Walmart’s Not Playing Along With Xbox’s Controller Price Hike — and That’s Great News for You

Microsoft increased the prices of Xbox consoles, games, and accessories earlier this year, but if you held out on buying a new Xbox controller, your patience has paid off at Walmart as it launches its own sales event to match Prime Day 2025.

Not only does the retailer offer some of the lowest prices on Xbox controllers, but it also has models like the Elite Series 2 and its Core variant available at reduced rates. The most affordable option is the striking Shock Blue, now just $46.50, with discounts also available on the standard black, Robot White, and the special edition Pulse Cipher.

The Elite Series 2 Core Wireless controller is now $124.90 instead of $139.99, while the full-featured Elite Series 2 and the newly released DOOM: The Dark Ages controller are discounted to $155.99 and $74 respectively.

The Pulse Cipher is also $10 cheaper, and the Elite Series 2 Core includes extra buttons, adjustable triggers, and the ability to save three custom profiles. The Elite Series 2 (non-Core) comes with additional accessories and a carry case featuring a charging cradle.

Still, collectors will want the DOOM Limited Edition version. Not only is it significantly discounted here (37% off), but it’s one of the few controllers with a blood-spattered design.
