Sandfall Interactive Unveils Official Esquie Plushie, Cautions Against Fraudulent Sales

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 features a cast of unforgettable characters, with Esquie, the game’s endearing giant companion, stealing hearts as a potential mascot. Sandfall Interactive is alerting fans about fraudulent merchandise sales while announcing an official Esquie plushie currently in development.

In a statement shared on X/Twitter by the official Expedition 33 account, Sandfall Interactive highlighted the emergence of “suspicious” websites offering Esquie plushies.

“To clarify: no third-party websites selling Esquie plushies are officially licensed,” the studio stated. “Many use AI-generated artwork for promotion, and we strongly advise against buying from these sources, as they may be fraudulent.”

Balancing caution with excitement, Sandfall confirmed plans to produce official Esquie plushies, aiming for a swift release. “Please stay patient and avoid scams in the meantime!” the studio urged.

Fans of the game will understand the demand for an Esquie plushie. For those yet to experience Expedition 33, Esquie is a massive, lovable ally encountered in Act 1, serving as both a loyal companion and a unique travel method in the overworld, reminiscent of Big Hero 6’s Baymax.

Given Esquie’s appeal, it’s no surprise that a plush version is highly anticipated, making Sandfall’s work on an official product reassuring. A quick Google search reveals unofficial sites and forum discussions about Esquie plush vendors. For an authentic plush from Sandfall and Kepler, fans will need to wait a little longer. No word yet on whether the real-life plushie will include a nod to Esquie’s wine-filled charm.

Last week, Sandfall Interactive rolled out patch 1.2.3 for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, fine-tuning the balance of Maelle’s Stendhal ability. The game also earned praise from French President Emmanuel Macron, who lauded its developers as a “brilliant showcase of French creativity and boldness.”
