Valve's back from the holiday break, and the first Deadlock patch of 2025 is a surprisingly small one. Following the announcement of a shift away from bi-weekly updates, many anticipated a substantial patch, but Valve opted for a lighter touch to start the year.
This initial update focuses solely on balance adjustments for Yamato. The hero received a minor nerf, impacting damage scaling and reducing the attack speed bonus from Shadow Transformation's first level. Further tweaks were applied to weaken Frenzy, Berserker, and Restorative Shot, while Alchemical Fire underwent a slight rework.

A larger, more comprehensive patch is anticipated, though the timing remains uncertain. Predicting the release date is currently difficult.
It's noteworthy that Deadlock has experienced a recent dip in player numbers. While the reasons are speculative – possibly due to the popularity of Marvel Rivals – the game still maintains a respectable concurrent player count of 7,000–19,000, particularly considering it's in deep beta. Remember, Valve has yet to reveal any release date or monetization plans.
