According to the game's developers, inZOI will feature a "sort of" romantic or intimate interaction. Learn more about how the developers are handling mature themes and the level of realism these features will provide.

With inZOI's early access approaching, players are curious about the scope of its features, especially those involving romance and nudity. During a live "Ask Me (almost) Anything" session in the official inZOI Discord, three team leads addressed fan questions, with responses translated by Assistant Director Joel Lee.
Discussions covered various aspects of the game's realism, including infant care, body types, and driving mechanics. However, a frequent topic was the inclusion of mature content.
Lee provided a work-safe response, stating: "Our answer is: sort of. The game includes a feature where a male and female Zoi are together, clearly with the intent of starting a family. However, the visual representation is left largely to the player's imagination. What you see isn't a literal depiction; you understand the implication. Is that clear? It's there, but perhaps not to the explicit degree some might expect."
While the details remain somewhat ambiguous, this confirms that romantic interactions will be part of the game, with visuals adjusted to suit a broader audience. Given inZOI's focus on realism, players can anticipate a more grounded approach compared to the stylized, humorous handling seen in similar life simulation games.

When asked why Zois shower with towels on, developers explained that traditional blurring effects don't complement the game's visual aesthetic. They noted that pixelated blur works well for cartoonish styles but feels out of place in inZOI's realistic environment.
In testing, applying such effects to inZOI's characters appeared more suggestive than simply obscuring them. The team also encountered a bug where a Zoi's reflection in a mirror would appear without any visual effects, which they have since worked to resolve.

Despite the mature themes in discussion, inZOI has received a T for Teen rating from the ESRB, aligning with titles like The Sims 4. This ensures the game remains appropriate for a wide audience while exploring its chosen features. Lee emphasized the team's goal: "We wanted to create a game accessible to as many age groups as possible."
The developers will host a live showcase on March 19, 2025, at 01:00 UTC on their official YouTube and Twitch channels. This event will cover early access pricing, DLC plans, the development roadmap, and answer additional fan questions.
