Next week, Steam Next Fest will be in full swing, highlighting a wide range of developers and their upcoming games. While Steam isn't the primary platform for mobile titles, it often hosts demos for games that will later launch on mobile. This is the case with our second-place winner of the Very Big Indie Pitch in Dubai, who won the prize for Mad King Redemption.

This 2.5D pixel art beat 'em up blends classic combat with roguelite mechanics, a combination that deeply impressed our judges. We believe the game has strong potential, clearly demonstrated in this demo. In Mad King Redemption, you fight for redemption against the Mad King—named accordingly—using forbidden magic. With a wide variety of ability systems, you can mix passive buffs and hero skills, along with randomized forbidden powers, to shape the hero you need to defeat your foes.

The goal of SECRET MISSION, the studio behind Mad King Redemption, was to revive the golden era of arcade beat 'em ups while adding modern depth and replay value that today’s players expect.

Mad King Redemption will launch first on PC and consoles in Early Access at the beginning of 2026, with the mobile version planned for release in the second half of the same year. SECRET MISSION is prioritizing full gamepad support in the mobile version, ensuring players get the full button-mashing experience they crave.
