A former employee of the studio recently disclosed on LinkedIn that a project in development for several years has been abruptly halted this week. No specific reasons were provided for the sudden stop in production. This news follows last year's comments by journalist Jeff Grubb, who noted that the project was not a mainline entry in the series, specifically not Titanfall 3. Respawn Entertainment had formed a dedicated "experimental team" for this project, comprising specialists experienced in crafting multiplayer shooters.
This isn't the first time Respawn has faced project cancellations. Last year, they also shut down another project, an arcade shooter codenamed Titanfall Legends. The Titanfall series, known for its dynamic mix of action and mech piloting, has garnered a dedicated fanbase since its debut in 2014. Players enjoy the unique gameplay that combines agile parkour with intense team battles, whether fighting as agile pilots or commanding powerful Titans.
Currently, Respawn's focus has shifted to other ventures. They are diligently working on the third installment of the Star Wars Jedi series and collaborating with Bit Reactor on a new strategy game set within the Star Wars universe. These projects highlight Respawn's ongoing commitment to delivering high-quality gaming experiences across different genres.
