Techland is revolutionizing the experience of Dying Light 2 with the introduction of Tower Raid, a dynamic and roguelite-inspired mode that brings unpredictable gameplay and high-stakes survival to the forefront. After extensive testing last year, this eagerly awaited feature is now fully integrated into the game, offering players a completely new way to navigate the perilous, infected-ridden world.
In Tower Raid, players won't control the familiar Aiden Caldwell. Instead, they'll embody one of four distinct warriors, each representing a unique combat archetype: Tank, Brawler, Ranger, or Specialist. These classes boast their own unique abilities, fostering varied playstyles and encouraging strategic teamwork. For those seeking an extra thrill, the mode allows players to shrink their team size—or even brave the tower's dangers solo.
The mode comes with three difficulty levels—Quick, Normal, and Elite—each influencing the intensity and duration of the run. With procedurally generated environments, no two tower ascents will ever be identical. Players will face shifting floor layouts and ever-changing enemy encounters, making adaptability crucial for survival.
To keep the challenge fresh and engaging, Techland has implemented a novel progression system. Each unsuccessful attempt at conquering the tower unlocks new abilities and weapons, steadily enhancing the player's chances in subsequent runs. At the core of the tower, players can meet Sola, a mysterious merchant who offers exclusive rewards such as the Office Day Outfit, Kuai Dagger, and Silenced Pistol to those adept enough to earn them.
Even as Techland gears up for the launch of Dying Light: The Beast, the studio remains dedicated to enriching Dying Light 2 throughout 2025. Upcoming updates will feature enhanced co-op mechanics, refined matchmaking, broader community map integration, new Tower Raid characters, additional melee and ranged weapons, a novel weapon class, improvements to the prologue, and significant graphical and technical optimizations.
