Build A Rocket Boy, the developer behind the much-anticipated game MindsEye, has unveiled a fresh trailer, confirmed its competitive $59.99 price point, and detailed what players can expect at launch. Led by former Rockstar North veteran Leslie Benzies, the studio has set a June 10, 2025 release date for MindsEye, which will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.

The official description sets the scene in the near-futuristic city of Redrock, where players will embody Jacob Diaz, a former soldier grappling with fragmented memories from his enigmatic MindsEye neural implant. As Diaz, players will unravel a conspiracy involving rogue AI, corporate greed, unchecked military power, and a sinister threat to humanity's survival. The narrative is brought to life with state-of-the-art visuals powered by Unreal Engine 5, promising a visually stunning experience.

An exciting addition for PC players is the game creation system, which allows them to craft their own experiences using MindsEye assets. This feature aims to foster a vibrant community of creators and players.

Priced at $59.99, MindsEye offers a compelling alternative to the typical $70-$80 AAA game price tag. At launch, players can dive into the "tightly crafted linear story campaign" and explore the "single-player free roam" mode. The launch content also includes several missions such as the "Destruction Site Shootout" horde mode, and combat missions like "Honor Amongst Thieves" and "Friendly Fire." Additionally, there are six races, six checkpoint races, and three drone races. Those who opt for the premium pass will receive an additional horde mode mission and an exotic cosmetics pack.

The pricing of video games remains a hot topic in the industry, with recent moves by Nintendo and Microsoft to increase prices to $80 sparking debate. Amidst this, some mid-range games like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and the upcoming Mafia: The Old Country have thrived at the $50 mark. MindsEye positions itself as a mid-tier option, offering substantial value for its price.

Looking beyond the launch, Build A Rocket Boy promises a "constant stream" of new premium content on a monthly basis, ensuring MindsEye remains a dynamic, ever-evolving experience. This includes new missions, challenges, and game assets. The studio emphasized that the combination of studio-developed content and community creations will keep the game fresh and engaging for years to come.

The 2025 roadmap for MindsEye includes community updates and new missions in the summer, new single-player modes, multiplayer features, and more missions in the fall, and free roam updates along with additional missions in the winter. Premium pass owners will enjoy exclusive missions and new packs throughout the year.
