The highly anticipated Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 has reached a crucial milestone with its main story now complete, according to director Naoki Hamaguchi and producer Yoshinori Kitase. Development is proceeding smoothly without delays, promising a satisfying conclusion to the trilogy.

Series producer Yoshinori Kitase and game director Naoki Hamaguchi confirmed in a Famitsu interview that development for the third installment is progressing perfectly on schedule. Production began immediately after completing FF7 Rebirth.
"We're maintaining our original timeline established at the remake project's inception," Hamaguchi stated. "Everything is advancing exactly as planned."

While Kitase previously revealed the scenario was complete before Rebirth's PlayStation 5 launch, he confirmed all story polishing has now been finalized. Creative Director Tetsuya Nomura successfully delivered an ending that honors the original while providing fresh satisfaction.
"We're confident this conclusion will satisfy longtime fans," Kitase added.

Despite Rebirth's critical and commercial success in early 2024, the development team initially harbored concerns about player reception. As the middle chapter of a remake trilogy, they worried about maintaining momentum.
"The overwhelmingly positive feedback greatly motivated our team," Hamaguchi said. "It's created excellent momentum heading into the finale."
The game's success stems partly from Hamaguchi's structured development philosophy. He emphasizes implementing only suggestions that enhance core goals rather than accommodating subjective preferences.

The developers acknowledged PC gaming's increasing dominance in the industry. Kitase noted rising development costs necessitate broader distribution through PC releases.
"PCs transcend regional console limitations," Kitase explained. "Releasing PC versions allows us to reach our entire global audience."

This understanding prompted faster PC development for Rebirth compared to Remake. Hamaguchi stated: "We've significantly reduced the gap between console and PC releases."
Considering these experiences, the trilogy's conclusion may arrive on PC even sooner, delivering the complete Remake experience to all platforms.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is now available on Steam and PlayStation 5. Players can begin their adventure with Final Fantasy 7 Remake on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam.
