Learning to read involves mastering the art of pronouncing the sounds of letters rather than their names. This fundamental skill is crucial for children embarking on their reading journey.

The second key player in this learning process is the adult who guides the child. By engaging in specific exercises together, adults can help children observe the correct mouth movements and learn to position their lips accurately to produce the sounds.

To facilitate this, we focus on a selection of simpler alphabet letters, using them to form names of animals and common everyday words. Importantly, in this program, we emphasize pronouncing the SOUND of the letter rather than its name.

Initially, adults should practice alongside the child, understanding that reading is a gradual process. Once the child gains some confidence, they can be allowed to use the application independently, with periodic joint practice sessions. After some time, adults can guide the child to the “Discover the Word” section for further exercises:

1. Encourage the child to pronounce the sounds of the letters that form the word TREE.
2. After practicing for a while, ask the child, "What did you say?"
3. It's crucial not to tell the child the word they've spoken.

This process should be repeated, urging the child to pronounce the sounds of the letters in the word TREE more quickly. As the intervals between the sounds shorten, continue this exercise without revealing the word. Eventually, when asked, "What did you say?", the child will exclaim, "I said TREE!" At this point, celebrate the milestone—the child has begun to read.

Soon, you'll notice a surge of interest in the child as they start to read every word they encounter. This is the perfect time to introduce more complex letter sounds, such as the letter C, which can sound soft (as in 'sky') or hard (as in 'house') depending on the surrounding letters. Gradually, the rest of the alphabet will be integrated. It's vital to respect each child's individual pace and learning journey.
