Five Nights at Freddy's is finally making its way to Dead by Daylight, but developer Behaviour Interactive continues exploring potential horror icons to expand its terrifying roster.

In a conversation with IGN, the team behind the acclaimed asymmetrical horror game shared their creative aspirations. While constantly brainstorming new Killers and Survivors, some developers revealed their personal wishlist characters for future updates.

Developer's Dream: Bringing The Thing to Dead by Daylight

Killer Designer and horror expert Jason Guzzo - who previously introduced iconic characters like Chucky, Dracula, and Springtrap - openly shared his passion project: "My absolute dream license, and probably my favorite horror film, is obvious - The Thing," Guzzo revealed. "I've been campaigning internally for two and a half years to make this collaboration happen."

Guzzo clarified this isn't a tease of future content, acknowledging potential design challenges adapting the shape-shifting creature into gameplay. Nevertheless, he remains determined: "It's the one property I'm crusading to implement someday."

Creative Director Dave Richard discussed the team's ongoing discussions about potential additions. While Pennywise stands out as a strong candidate ("would be amazing"), Richard emphasized broader ambitions: "There are other horror legends we'd love to include. Honestly? I want to collect them all."

The team has even considered unconventional choices that could work with creative solutions. "We playfully discuss more unusual options," Richard noted. "Cujo could function as a Killer, and Christine - though we'd need to figure out how a murderous car would play in a match."

As Dead by Daylight approaches its ninth anniversary, the game continues expanding its horror universe. The upcoming Five Nights at Freddy's chapter launches June 17, introducing Springtrap and a pizzeria map.
