Many Marvel Rivals players are experiencing frustratingly long shader compilation times on launch. This guide offers a solution to significantly reduce this delay.

Game launches, particularly online titles, often involve some wait time. However, Marvel Rivals on PC is causing extended delays due to slow shader compilation—a process crucial for rendering 3D graphics correctly. While the game may be installed correctly, this issue persists. Fortunately, a community-discovered workaround exists.

Shaders are programs managing aspects like color and lighting in 3D environments. Incorrect shader installation can lead to various problems. This fix, shared on the Marvel Rivals subreddit by user Recent-Smile-4946, addresses the lengthy compilation:

  1. Access your Nvidia Control Panel.
  2. Navigate to the global settings.
  3. Adjust the Shader Cache Size to a value less than or equal to your VRAM. (Note: Options are limited to 5 GB, 10 GB, and 100 GB; select the closest value to your VRAM.)

This method has reportedly reduced shader compilation time to mere seconds and resolved "Out of VRAM memory" errors for many players.

While a permanent fix from NetEase Games is awaited, this workaround offers a practical solution to avoid significant delays each time you launch the game.

Marvel Rivals is currently available on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S.
