The director of Stellar Blade maintains an open-minded approach towards adult-oriented mods. Discover insights into the developers' perspective on game modifications and the studio's vision for expanding this acclaimed title.

Since launching on Steam, Stellar Blade appears set to maintain its permissive stance on modifications - including mature content. ShiftUp CEO and Game Director Hyung-tae Kim believes modding significantly broadens gameplay possibilities. During a June 14 interview with South Korea's This Is Game, Kim expressed enthusiasm for creative modifications while cautioning against gameplay disruptions: "We welcome player creativity, though some modifications may approach hacking territory or affect normal game functions."
Technical Director Dong-gi Lee advised caution regarding potential technical issues: "Modifications haven't undergone our testing protocols. While we encourage creative expression, players experiencing technical difficulties should temporarily revert to vanilla versions."

Addressing adult-themed modifications, Kim emphasized artistic liberty: "As our game carries mature rating, imposing restrictions seems unnecessary." He positioned Stellar Blade as embracing creative expression while maintaining social responsibility: "Players assume responsibility for their experience post-purchase. While we trust community discretion, we'll address any verifiable public harms."
The director advocated for genuine game ownership: "Modern gaming often leans toward temporary access models. We prefer players truly own their experiences rather than merely renting content."

ShiftUp's May 16 investor presentation confirmed development of Stellar Blade 2, targeting release before 2027. Initially conceived as DLC, the project outgrew its original scope according to Kim: "What began as additional content demanded its own platform." While cautiously optimistic about meeting the timeline, Kim promised improved narrative quality: "Our initial focus prioritized combat systems over storytelling - an imbalance we'll correct."

The PC release continues gaining momentum, surpassing 192,000 concurrent players on Steam with overwhelmingly positive reception. Game8 awarded the enhanced PC edition a 90/100 score, praising its visual refinements, expanded missions, and unrestricted global availability - cementing its status as the definitive version.
